Bowling Green Municipal Utilities board meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the Chambers at City Hall (1001 College Street). Meetings are telecast live on cable access channel 4. Repeat broadcasts are shown the following day at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. It is also shown the following Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. on channel 4.

BGMU’s record-high winter demand was 160.68 MW and was set in January, 2014. The record-high summer demand was set in August, 2007 at 209.44 MW.

BGMU maintains almost 3,450 street light poles, and has 8,850 electric distribution poles installed throughout our service territory.

BGMU serves approximately 32,000 electric customers. Our Electric Division maintains 360 miles of distribution lines; 68 miles are underground, and 292 miles are overhead.

BGMU maintains 2,515 fire hydrants. Water line crews manage 297 miles of water lines and 284 miles of sewer lines.

In BGMU’s service territory, there are four water pressure zones that are regulated by five system water tanks. There are 5,720 manholes, 6,736 system valves, and 59 sewer pump stations throughout our system. The largest water pipe size in our system is 60 inches, and the largest wastewater pipe size is 48 inches.

BGMU’s Water Treatment Plant can treat up to 45 million gallons of water per day, and our Water Recovery Facility can treat up to 12 million gallons of wastewater per day.

BGMU Fiber spans almost 16,000 miles and includes nearly 1,000 access points throughout the system.

BGMU now offers 10 Gigabit services to commercial customers.

BGMU’s Fiber Division supports over 8,000 phone lines, and our support staff is 100% local.
