If payment of the utility bill has not been received by BGMU on or before the due date of the bill, a second notice will be mailed to the customer. All services are subject to disconnection if payment has not been received on or before the tenth (10th) day following the due date of the bill. BGMU will send its representative to the customer’s premise to disconnect the service. The charge is thirty dollars ($30.00) per trip. If the Utility representative cannot determine whether or not discontinuance of service would endanger life or property, a notice may be left on the door giving a 24 hour extension for payment. The additional thirty dollars ($30.00) will be added to the customer’s bill for this trip to the customer’s premises.

If electric or water service has been disconnected by the Utility for nonpayment of a bill, a returned check or failure to comply with Utility regulations or agreements, reconnection charges will be collected by the Utility before service is restored. There will be a $30.00 reconnect charge, during Utility business hours, for anyone whose service has been disconnected for nonpayment; the charge is $60.00 after Utility business hours. If electric service is disconnected at the transformer instead of the meter, actual cost of connection or a minimum of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) will be collected before service is restored. After hours reconnection fees will be added to the next month’s bill.
